Make Honey’s Voice Sound Amazing

A quick setup card — better voice + full volume

Honey borrows the voices already on your phone. Download a nicer one and she instantly sounds better — no cost, no app changes.

📱 iPhone / iPad

Get the best voice:

  1. Open Settings → Accessibility.
  2. Tap Spoken Content → Voices → English.
  3. Pick a voice and tap the cloud/download icon to get an “Enhanced” or “Premium” version. Great ones: Ava (Enhanced), Samantha (Enhanced), or any “Siri Voice.”
  4. Wait for it to finish downloading.
  5. Reopen the Honey app → open the voice picker → choose your new voice → SAVE at the bottom.

“Enhanced” and “Siri” voices sound nearly human. The plain default ones are the robotic ‘yuck’ ones — skip those.

Check the volume:

  • Press the volume-UP button (left side) while the app is talking.
  • Flip the silent switch (top-left edge) so it’s NOT showing orange.
  • Swipe down from top-right → make sure the bell isn’t on silent, and drag the volume slider up.

🤖 Android

Get the best voice:

  1. Open Settings → search “Text-to-speech” (or Settings → Accessibility → Text-to-speech output).
  2. Set Preferred engine to Google Text-to-speech (it sounds best).
  3. Tap the settings gear → Install voice data → English → download a higher-quality / “Natural” voice.
  4. Set your language to that voice. Use the ▶ Play button to hear a sample.
  5. Reopen the Honey app → voice picker → choose the Google voice → SAVE at the bottom.

Look for voices with “Google” in the name. Avoid the basic Samsung/robotic ones.

Check the volume:

  • Press the volume-UP button while the app is talking, then tap the slider menu and raise MEDIA volume.
  • Make sure the phone isn’t in Vibrate/Do-Not-Disturb mode.
  • Some phones have a separate “Media” volume — that’s the one Honey uses, so max it out.

✅ Quick check before you share it

  • Type “tell me a joke” and listen — does it sound warm and clear?
  • If it’s quiet: it’s almost always MEDIA volume or silent mode, not the app.
  • If it’s robotic: go back and download an Enhanced/Google voice above.
  • Always tap SAVE at the bottom after changing the voice.

A good voice makes Honey feel like a real friend. Worth the two minutes. 🍯

Your warm little friend who tells jokes, chats, and keeps you company. Here’s how to start!
Welcome! Honey is easy — just tap and play. There’s no wrong way to use her. Below are the simple things to try first. Take your time and have fun. 🍯

1 Meet & name your Honey

  1. Tap 🎙️ Talk to Honey on the main screen.
  2. She’ll say hello. Look up top for ✨ Set up my Honey and tap it.
  3. On the Build Your Honey screen: pick a face, type a name, choose She / He / They, a comedy style, and a vibe.
  4. Tap ✓ Save changes.
💡 You can change any of this later — nothing is permanent.

2 Pick her voice

  1. Go to Profile (bottom right), then tap 🎚️ Voice & speech.
  2. Tap any voice to hear a sample.
  3. Drag the sliders to make her faster/slower or change her tone.
  4. Pick the one you like — it saves automatically.
💡 Prefer quiet? Turn off Read aloud in the chat and just read her words.

3 Talk & get a joke

  1. In the chat, type a message — or tap a button below the box.
  2. Tap 😂 Tell me a joke or 🎲 Surprise me.
  3. When she asks if you want the punchline, tap 👍 yes.
  4. React anytime with 👍 👎 ❓ ❤️ just above where you type.
💡 Talk to her like a friend — ask her anything, she’ll answer.

4 Your calendar

  1. On the main screen tap the 📅 Calendar tile.
  2. Tap ➕ Add to calendar.
  3. Type what it is, then when (like “tomorrow 3pm” or “July 15”).
  4. Tap an item later to add it to your phone’s calendar.
💡 You can also just tell Honey “remind me to…” in the chat.

5 Lists & daily tasks

  1. Tap the 📝 Lists tile on the main screen.
  2. Type an item (like “milk” or “call Susan”) and add it.
  3. Tap items off as you finish them.
  4. Find shopping, to-dos, and more under 🍯 My Sweet Life.
💡 Great for groceries, errands, and little reminders.

6 Explore the rest

  1. ⛅ Weather — tap to see your forecast.
  2. 📚 Learn — fun facts and little lessons.
  3. Daily Buzz (bottom) — a fresh treat each day.
  4. Insights (bottom) — see your happy little stats.
